AI agent that builds full-stack apps from plain language and publishes them on Replit’s own cloud, with a managed database, file storage and sign-in built in

Choose Replit Agent if

  • You want to build and publish in one place — Agent writes the app, the database, storage and sign-in are built in, and the published app is live on a replit.app URL in the same session.
  • You want hosting that matches your traffic — Autoscale deployments scale to zero when nobody is using the app, and a Reserved VM gives a fixed monthly price when you need always-on.
  • You are learning by doing or iterating on a prototype, and a free Starter plan or Core at US$20 a month is the right size of commitment.
  • You have a developer, or will soon, who can take the synced GitHub, GitLab or Bitbucket repository, or the zip download, and continue from there.

Choose Idea to Production if

  • One named contact who built the application and will fix it — Replit’s support policy covers the platform and states it cannot debug or fix individual application code.
  • Backups with restores we have actually run, files included, and an alert that reaches a person who will act on it rather than an email in the builder’s inbox.
  • Dependencies and security advisories applied on a schedule by us, rather than a patch prepared for you to review, apply and republish.
  • Roles and permissions from day one, with SSO and audit logs ready when the first enterprise customer asks — under Replit’s shared responsibility model, access control in the app is yours.

Capability Replit Agent Idea to Production
Who it is for Replit Agent Yes Anyone who wants to build, publish and run an app by describing it to an agent, from a free Starter plan to Enterprise workspaces, with no coding required. Idea to Production Yes Founders and businesses whose application has to work in front of a paying customer.
How you build Replit Agent Yes You describe the app in chat; Agent plans, writes and tests a full-stack app in a cloud workspace and publishes it to Replit’s own hosting. Idea to Production Yes You describe it in plain English; we build it and keep it running.
Time to a first working version Replit Agent Yes A first app builds from a prompt and publishes to a replit.app URL in one session; the free Starter plan includes one published app, which goes offline after 30 days. Source Idea to Production Partly A first working version in days, not minutes — it has real accounts and real data from the start.
Pricing model Replit Agent Yes Free Starter plan; Core US$20 a month (US$18 billed annually) and Pro US$100 a month (US$90 billed annually) with monthly credits; Enterprise by contract; Agent usage, hosting, database and storage draw on credits, then pay as you go. Source Idea to Production Yes A licence plus the resources your application actually uses. No salary, no equity.
Code ownership and export Replit Agent Yes GitHub connection with two-way auto-sync from the Git pane, and a Download as zip option for the whole project. Source Idea to Production Yes The source is yours, handed over in a form your own team can pick up and continue.
Hosting and custom domain Replit Agent Yes Autoscale, Reserved VM, Static or Scheduled deployments with a free replit.app subdomain; custom domains bought through Replit or connected from your registrar, with TLS provided by Replit. Source Idea to Production Yes Production and staging on your own domain with TLS, Canadian regions by default.
Accounts, roles and SSO Replit Agent Partly Replit Auth (users sign in with Replit accounts) or Clerk Auth (email, Google, GitHub, Apple, X) for app users, with enterprise SSO through the Clerk dashboard on the Pro plan; a roles and permissions feature for app users is not documented. Source Idea to Production Yes Real accounts, roles and permissions from day one; single sign-on switched on when you need it.
Database and tested backups Replit Agent Partly Managed PostgreSQL with point-in-time restore and optional daily scheduled backups on the production database, 7 days on Core and up to 28 days on Pro and Enterprise; backups of App Storage files and a tested restore are not documented. Source Idea to Production Yes A backed-up database with restores tested, not assumed.
Monitoring, alerting to a person Replit Agent Partly Uptime monitoring on Core, Pro and Enterprise, switched on at publish time, checks the app on a schedule and emails you if it goes down, with request, error and resource charts and 30 days of logs; application-level monitoring is yours under the shared responsibility model. Source Idea to Production Yes Watched from outside on a short interval, alerting to a person, not a dashboard.
Security patching and dependency updates Replit Agent Partly Automatic dependency CVE scans on every plan, and with Auto-Protect on Agent prepares a patch for you to review, apply and republish; Replit patches the platform, and remediation in your app is your responsibility. Source Idea to Production Yes Dependencies and security advisories applied on a schedule, forever.
Compliance evidence Replit Agent Partly Replit states a SOC 2 Type 2 attestation for its platform and publishes a trust centre; Enterprise adds audit logs and bulk SBOM export for the workspace, and regulatory compliance and pen testing of your app are listed as yours. Source Idea to Production Partly A written security overview and answered questionnaires today. SOC 2 Type II is in progress, not certified.
Payments, email, e-signature, support Replit Agent Partly Documented connectors, on Core and above, for Stripe, Square and RevenueCat payments, Resend, SendGrid and Twilio messaging, and Intercom, Zendesk, HubSpot and Salesforce; an e-signature connector is not documented. Source Idea to Production Yes Thirteen categories built in — Stripe, Xero, Mailgun, Twilio, DocuSign, Intercom, Jira and more.
AI agents Replit Agent Partly Agent builds and maintains the app; Routines run scheduled Agent work in a Conversation, and Replit AI Integrations let the built app call OpenAI, Anthropic and Google models billed to your credits; agents inside the built app with their own credentials, limits and audit trail are not documented. Source Idea to Production Yes AI agents with credentials, limits, a schedule and an audit trail.
Who is responsible when it breaks Replit Agent Partly Replit supports the platform, with AI-powered support on Core and a support engineer on business days for Pro and Enterprise; its support policy states it cannot debug or fix individual application code, and incidents in your app are yours to lead. Source Idea to Production Yes The people who built it. One named contact, not a ticket queue.
Scaling Replit Agent Yes Autoscale deployments add servers with traffic up to a maximum you set and scale to zero when idle; Reserved VMs go up to 16 vCPU and 64 GiB; usage is billed in compute units from your credits. Source Idea to Production Yes Capacity follows demand and is measured; ten users or ten thousand on the same application.
Deployment into your own cloud Replit Agent Partly Published apps run on Replit’s infrastructure in a region you choose (North America, Europe, Asia, South America or Australia), with single-tenant environments on Enterprise; the code can leave through Git or a zip download, and deploying it into your own cloud account is not documented. Source Idea to Production No Not yet — on the roadmap. Today the application runs on our infrastructure. Source

After the build

The part that decides whether it survives a customer

What Replit provides once the app exists

Replit hosts the published app on a replit.app subdomain or your own domain with TLS, as an Autoscale deployment by default that scales to zero when idle. The production PostgreSQL database has point-in-time restore for 7 days on Core and up to 28 on Pro and Enterprise, plus optional daily backups. Uptime monitoring on paid plans emails you when the app is down, logs are kept 30 days, and dependency scans flag CVEs; with Auto-Protect on, Agent prepares a patch for you to apply and republish. Sign-in is Replit Auth or Clerk Auth, with enterprise SSO on Pro. Support covers the platform, AI-powered on Core and a support engineer on weekdays for Pro and Enterprise, and does not debug your app’s code. Usage draws on credits, then pay-as-you-go.

What a real customer asks for that is not on that list

The first paying customer does not care who built the app. They want it up at two in the morning, and Replit’s uptime email goes to whoever published the app — someone still has to read it and act. They want a restore that has been rehearsed, files included. They want the Auto-Protect patch applied and republished the same day, not left pending in a Security pane. Their IT department wants roles, an audit log and a security questionnaire answered by a person who can sign it; Replit’s shared responsibility model lists access control, application monitoring and compliance of your app as yours. None of that is a feature you prompt for; it is a job someone has to hold, every week, for as long as the application earns money.

Every application we build inherits the same five guarantees: Secure, Compliant, Reliable, Scalable, Efficient.

Already built on Replit Agent?

We treat your prototype as the brief.

A working prototype is the best specification there is: it shows what you want rather than describing it. We start from what you have learned, not from its code, and you get a production application with real accounts, real data and somebody watching it.

Questions people ask

Can you take over my Replit Agent app?

We treat it as the brief. A Replit prototype is the clearest specification you can hand us — it shows exactly which screens, flows and data you want. We rebuild from it with real accounts, roles, a backed-up database and monitoring from the start, rather than inheriting generated code we did not write and cannot vouch for.

Is Replit Agent a bad choice?

No. It is a good way to get an idea onto a URL in an afternoon, with a database, storage and sign-in built in and hosting that only bills while the app is serving requests. The code syncs to your own repository and can be downloaded at any time, so nothing is lost if you later move on. The question is only who runs it once someone is paying to use it.

Does Replit host my app, and what does that cost?

Yes. Published apps run on Replit’s infrastructure on a free replit.app subdomain or your own domain, in a region you choose on paid plans. The default Autoscale deployment bills per compute unit and request from your monthly credits and scales to zero when idle; a Reserved VM is a fixed monthly cost. The free Starter plan includes one published app that goes offline after 30 days; Core at US$20 a month lifts that cap and includes monthly credits, after which usage is pay as you go.

Who is responsible for backups on Replit?

Replit keeps point-in-time restore history for the production database — 7 days on Core, up to 28 days on Pro and Enterprise — and can take one scheduled backup a day, and you run the restore from the database settings. The development database restores from Agent checkpoints. Backups of App Storage files are not documented, and neither path documents a tested restore; testing one is what turns a backup into a recovery.

Can my customers sign in with their company SSO on a Replit app?

Yes, with Clerk Auth. App users can sign in with email and password, Google, GitHub, Apple or X, and on the Pro plan you can add enterprise SSO connections to Okta or Microsoft Entra ID through the Clerk dashboard; Replit states these connections are free until 1 October 2026 and then billed at Clerk’s prices through your Replit bill. A roles and permissions feature for app users is not documented, so that is something to ask for and check in the built app.

What happens when my Replit credits run out?

On Core and Pro, usage beyond your monthly credits is billed pay as you go, up to a usage limit you set; when you reach that limit, Replit states that usage-based services are blocked until the next billing cycle or until you raise it, and a separate service shutdown limit suspends services. Publishing and databases are billed as usage-based services, so the cap you choose is also the point at which your app can stop. Idea to Production bills a licence plus the resources the application actually uses, and the application does not pause.
